1. Introduction

Tickler43 ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website https://tickler43.com (the "Service"). Our mission is to provide a productivity layer for Google Calendar based on the "43 Folders" system. We believe in Data Sovereignty: your data belongs to you, and our application operates as a tool to manage that data within your own Google account.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of data required to make the Service function:

  • Google User Profile: We collect your email address and basic profile information to create your account and identify you.
  • Authentication Tokens: We securely store OAuth2 refresh tokens to maintain a connection to your Google Calendar for background processing (e.g., rolling over daily tasks).
  • Usage Data: We track anonymous usage statistics (e.g., number of tasks completed) to improve application performance.

3. How We Use Google Data (Scopes)

Tickler43 requests specific permissions ("scopes") from your Google Account. Here is exactly how each is used:

Google Calendar (auth/calendar)

Why we need it: To create, edit, and move "Tickler" tasks on your calendar.
How it is used: We read events only to identify tasks created by Tickler43. We write events to create new tasks or move incomplete tasks to the next day. We do not delete or modify your non-Tickler43 meetings.

Google Drive (auth/drive.file)

Why we need it: To allow you to attach reference files to your tasks.
How it is used: This is a "per-file" scope. We can only access files that you explicitly select using the Google Picker within our app. We cannot see or access any other files in your Drive.

4. Google Limited Use Disclosure

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Where your data lives: Your tasks are stored as events in your own Google Calendar. Tickler43 does not maintain a shadow database of your task content. If you stop using our service, your tasks remain in your calendar.

Revoking Access: You can revoke Tickler43's access to your data at any time by visiting your Google Account Security Settings.

Account Deletion: You may request full deletion of your Tickler43 account metadata (including your email and OAuth tokens) by contacting support. Upon deletion, we immediately purge your tokens from our secure storage.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Your OAuth refresh tokens are stored in an encrypted state within our secure database infrastructure (Google Cloud Firestore), accessible only by the automated Tickler43 backend services.
